Hello
Hello there! And welcome to my webpage. My name is Chris Miszczak, and I have been a graphic designer & Illustrator for many, many years. The journey towards medical illustration has been very unique and personal, but with a passion for the sciences, healthcare, medicine and the arts, it all just made sense.
I like to bring care and kindness into each working relationship and piece of artwork.
I have earned my professional membership after studying public relations and being on the PR committee for the AMI. The goal is to work alongside the fields of healthcare, research, academia and publications to create captivating visuals and life-long working relationships.
It is because of this unique background in public relations, journalism, illustration, graphic design, and, of course, the sciences, healthcare, medicine, and the fine arts that I know I bring a unique perspective to both my work and my working relationships. Every opportunity to connect with others is an opportunity to learn, listen, and implement unique goals for what each client is looking for.
Therefore, I am looking forward to hearing from you to learn about your own amazing work in the field, and I can now help bring your unique vision to life.
Education
2004-2007
Ontario Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design
Fanshawe College
After graduating from high school, I went straight to Fanshawe College to study Graphic Design. With an interest in illustration and advertising, it seemed like a great fit. Since then, I have consistently been working in the field of graphic design to some degree for the past eighteen years.
2012-2016
Pre-Medical & Fine Arts
University of Western Ontario
Initially, I went to UWO to pursue a passion in medicine I have had since childhood. While there, I learned a lot and developed an interest in both the arts and the sciences. I may or may not have spent more time in the newsroom writing stories and developing a professional skillset in listening. In addition to being the students newspapers Illustrations and Graphics Editor. I would not change the time spent there for anything in the world. I still loved my time at the University of Western Ontario
2020-2021
Post Graduate Degree in
Public Relations & Corporate Communications
Fanshawe College
After working for years already in the fields of communication and graphic design, I went back to school with the intention of finding a focus for healthcare communications.
I completed the program with honors, shortly after I also found my north star with the Association of Medical Illustrators as a professional member.

Getting in touch with me
I certainly do not mind getting in touch via email; in fact, I like writing and staying in touch with many mentors and friends this way. When it comes to future clients, I still prefer to make sure you are who you say you are. The internet is a place where there are plenty of untrustworthy people. The contact form below helps answer some of the questions I would take the time to explore myself.
If you still want to get in touch, I invite you to use the form below so we can discuss your project in more detail. I also prefer not to include my phone number for personal reasons.
Fair warning, I do work a full-time job in the print industry, so any projects we work on together will have to be done outside the 9 - 5 work schedule.
The short version is that I am Working full-time and taking on freelance projects. I am currently open for work.
